The Institute
The Medical Transport Leadership Institute (MTLI™) provides continuing education and certification for individuals currently managing medical transportation services, those seeking management positions, and others with direct and indirect involvement who desire greater understanding of this dynamic profession.

Students gain expertise and practical skills through formal didactic and participatory sessions designed to instill creative thinking and decision-making. Participants also obtain valuable insight into real life challenges by networking with industry leaders. The Institute operates with a rigorous approach to competency-based education, utilizing formal classroom hours, mandatory student participation, written testing, oral presentations and a code of professional conduct. Due to the demands of the program, students will be expected to complete out of classroom assignments.

The Capstone simulation is designed to help participants assimilate knowledge and information imparted in Year I and II of the institute. Small working groups will be assigned from the registered students. Group assignments will be given during orientation.

The groups will be provided a scenario and background information. Each group will be required to develop a formal written and oral presentation based on this information. Participants will be allowed some class time to work on their capstone simulation but should expect that most of the preparation for the project will happen outside of class.

All Capstone groups are required to print a hard copy of their presentation for instructor review. Oglebay has one printer available for this purpose so be sure to plan ahead to avoid any last minute conflicts with other groups who might also be using the printer.

Graduates of the two year program will receive certification as a Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE®).

Dress Code

April outdoor temperatures in West Virginia will vary, and a reminder that inside the resort rooms are often on the cooler side so dress in layers for your own comfort. Business casual is the accepted dress code during the program, but Year 2 and Grad Capstone Sim students are expected to present their Capstone Simulation work product in formal business attire.
