October 8, 2025 Notice of AAMS Commentary Supporting VAI and AMOA Comments Regarding FAA-2025-1908: Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for Normalizing Unmanned Aircraft Systems Beyond Visual Line of Sight Operations (BVLOS). The Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS), through Thorn Run Partners, supports comments from the Air Medical Operators Association (AMOA) and Vertical Aviation International (VAI) regarding the NPRM for BVLOS UAS operations. We want to reiterate our position: we remain supportive of UAS growth and we want to ensure that we share the airspace safely. AAMS is grateful for the consistent and aligned feedback from across the vertical aviation community that the proposed rule, as it stands, requires thoughtful refinement to ensure improved safety within the shared low-level airspace. Both AMOA and VAI offered comments on the proposed rule, centering around safety and general rotorcraft perspectives.
