Meet the Faculty!

The Critical Care Transport Academy (CCTA) provides education and training, developed and presented by volunteer flight crew members from around the country.

This Academy (conducted mostly through various online activities) occurs over the span of several months and provides a solid clinical foundation, didactic demonstrations, tools for flight crew orientation, interview practice sessions and more, with the goal of helping Academy graduates find a flight program career that is the best fit for them.

Each month a new topic is introduced. Students are provided with resources to complete various assignments throughout the month. At the end of the month, students gather on small group calls for a final assignment or review call on the assignments (as appropriate each month).

The Academy is led by veteran instructors with an array of experience and knowledge in the critical care  transportation sector.  The faculty will work closely with students to ensure an understanding of the curriculum and assistance as they work through program assignments.

Quick Tips when applying:

  •  Show your commitment to working towards a flight career. Show us that you're ready to commit to the Academy and will put in the time and effort to be successful.
  • Speak from the heart. The faculty mentor team is not just looking for qualifications; we want to get to know the real you! Let your passion and personality shine through.
  • Your video submission doesn't have to be perfect or polished. Pull out your phone and record a one minute segment that shows your unique perspective on why you want to fly.
  • The letter of recommendation does NOT need to come from an employer. It can come from a colleague, a peer, a friend, even a family member. We are just looking for someone who can speak to your character.

CCTA is a mostly conducted online with no tuition cost to students, however, students are responsible for travel costs associated with one in-person course (to be held in conjunction with AMTC24 in Salt Lake City at the beginning of November) that runs over two and ½ days.
