Clinical Resources

The Critical Care Transport Collaborative Outcomes Research Effort (CCT CORE) is a cooperative group founded in 2008 with support from MedEvac Foundation International. CCT CORE's aim is to facilitate communications and collaboration in the realm of outcomes research in critical care transport (particularly helicopter EMS). Since its initial project, a ten-center airway study published in 2010 in Prehospital Emergency Care, CCT CORE has facilitated projects ranging from cost-effectiveness to patient safety.

The most recent project of CCT CORE is the assembly of a freely accessed collection of helicopter EMS outcomes research, the HEMS Outcomes Assessment Research Database (HOARD). HOARD, hosted and managed by the Division of EMS at Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, is intended as a tool for anyone interested in exploring the air transport outcomes evidence base.

Recent CCT CORE research demonstrated that even with a short transport distance (<10 miles), HEMS can achieve life-saving time savings in patients undergoing transport for emergency percutaneous coronary intervention. For a limited time,  CLICK HERE to access the study.
