Call to Action: Help AAMS Delay VA Final Rule on Payment Parity with Medicare
Tuesday, December 13, 2022
AAMS Member Call to Action: December 12, 2022 AAMS seeks to delay the finalization of rules that would bring VA payments for veteran beneficiary travel to parity with Medicare until the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) can complete the data collection process required by the No Surprises Act, as well as the analysis of this data by CMS to determine the adequacy of Medicare payments to air ambulances. The impact of this rule would be devastating to air ambulance providers, especially as we work with federal regulators to properly enforce the No Surprises Act and continue to advocate for appropriate Medicare reimbursement. It's time for strength in numbers and we need your voice! Please visit the AAMS Advocacy Action Center to contact your member of Congress and to submit a letter to Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough. AAMS has copy on this issue already prepared for you, and you have the ability to add your own copy to lend additional credibility to the messaging prior to submitting your letter on behalf of your program. If you have questions about AAMS efforts on this issue, please contact Chris Eastlee at ceastlee@aams.org.
