CCTA Accepting Applications for New Faculty Mentors

The Critical Care Transport Academy (CCTA) is now accepting applications for new faculty mentors.  We are looking to the dedicated air medical transport professionals for these exciting positions. 

 

All applications must be completed by Friday, August 12th. Current CCTA faculty mentors will review all applications. Selected candidates under consideration will be contacted by Wednesday, August 24th for further information and interview process instructions.

Eligibility: 

In order to be eligible for application submission, candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a member of AAMS
  • Current RN or Paramedic
  • 5 or more years of experience as flight nurse or paramedic
  • Teaching/instructional and/or mentorship experience 
  • Positive interpersonal communication and organization skills

General Summary: 
Being a faculty mentor for CCTA is a volunteer position responsible for development and coordination of prescribed educational content, tailored for those who are interested in pursuing a career in air medical transport. Individual faculty members are directly responsible creating materials for 1-2 educational modules during the year long program, including leading calls with students to review content and assignments from the module.

Additionally, faculty members are responsible for mentoring a designated subset of students through the full program. Mentorship involves making yourself available for students for general check-ins on the program, questions on assignments and professional development counseling. 
CCTA faculty mentors are deeply committed to the advancement of the students in the air medical transport profession. As such, instructors need to be able to commit approximately 10-15 hours a month to be able to these tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Coordination, preparation, and delivery of CCTA education program.  This includes course material development and PowerPoint presentations and subsequent course assignments/homework for assigned modules (estimated 1-2).
  • Leading monthly calls to review course assignments.
  • Teaching, mentoring, and counseling students.
  • Promote individual student guidance and mentoring as needed.
  • Promote networking of students.

  • Completed Employer Support Form
  • CV – Curriculum vitae, including recently presented talks and lectures 
  • Names and contact info for 2 industry references who can speak to your experience
  • Personal executive summary and explanation of interest in the position
  • Self-evaluation - strength and weakness 
  • Application deadline – Friday, August 12th
