Alexandria, Virginia - The Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) and MedEvac Foundation International (MFI) are pleased to announce three new appointments to its leadership team, effective this week.
Megan Cohen, M.P.A., CAE, will replace Garet Turner as Executive Director of the MedEvac Foundation International. Cohen has more than 30 years of strategic, healthcare-focused association management experience, serving as executive director of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, National Association Medical Staff Services and The International Dyslexia Association.
Blair Beggan returns to AAMS as Senior Director of Marketing & Communications following a two-year role as director of communications for the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Beggan’s strengths include 10+ years of experience with AAMS members, as well as organizational branding, content development and messaging.
Eric Wood, who joined AAMS in January 2021, has been promoted to Senior Director of Membership and Operations. Eric provides a depth of knowledge related to project and systems management and a strong dedication to service excellence.
“I look forward to the combined talents of Megan, Blair, and Eric to continue our critical work as the unified voice of transport medicine,” said Cameron Curtis, CMM, CAE, AAMS President and CEO. “In addition to the positive changes made during the last year, I’m excited to work with our staff team and volunteer leadership on a comprehensive engagement strategy––with the purpose of providing our members excellent services through informative and quality advocacy, education, research, and resources,” she said.
All three employees will focus on the new vision, mission, and strategic plan of AAMS and the Foundation unveiled at the association’s virtual annual membership meeting on December 15, 2020. With the support of the AAMS Board, Chair Deborah Boudreaux announced AAMS’s mission is to advance the art and science of transport medicine through advocacy, education, and research ensuring high-quality, life-saving care to patients and communities worldwide. Key to delivering this objective is to assure an innovative member engagement strategy.
