Greetings AAMS Members,

As the Chair of the AAMS Nominations Committee, I’m pleased to announce that the election for representatives for the 2014 – 2016 term on the AAMS Board of Directors has come to a close, and we would like to welcome a few new faces! Regions 3, 4, and 5 were up for re-election along with two At-Large Director Seats.

 

Ted Ryan - PicTed Ryan, MBA, RN, EMT-P, was elected as AAMS Region 3 Director. Ted, a first time AAMS Board member, is the System Director at Ministry Spirit Medical Transportation in Central, WI. Ted started his career as a paramedic in public service and worked his way up into the hospital setting as a flight nurse/paramedic, then into hospital administration. Ted’s varied and highly commendable background will help guide the AAMS Board.

 

Debbie BoudreauxDeborah Boudreaux, MSN, RN, CCRN, C-NPT, LP, CMTE, was elected as the AAMS Region 4 Director. Debbie, also a first time board member, is the Program Director at Teddy Bear Transport in Fort Worth, TX. She has been a nurse for over 20 years with the Cook Children’s specializing in Neonatal and Pediatric Transports. Debbie is the current chair of the AAMS Pediatric (KIDS) Special Interest Group, and will be a great asset to the AAMS board.

 

GarretsonDoug Garretson, EMT-P, NREMT-P, CMTE, was elected as the Region 5 Director for the AAMS Board. Doug was appointed in June of 2013 to board and was reelected as the Region 5 Director. He is the President and CEO for the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western PA, Inc. /STAT MedEvac. Doug has over 40 years in the career and volunteer sectors of EMS, Fire and Rescue Services in various positions including Director of the Public Safety Training Academy overseeing Police, Fire and EMS education, retiring as Chief of EMS in 2004. Doug is the current secretary for the board and brings a strong leadership presence to the board.

 

Chris Hall pictureChristopher Hall, FP-C, CMTE, has been elected to one of the AAMS At-Large Director Positions. Chris, a first time AAMS board member, is the Business Operations Manager for Government Affairs & Industry Relations at PHI Air Medical LLC. He is the Past President on the IAFCCP Board and is active in other industry associations. Chris is active on the AAMS Government Relations Committee as well as Chair of the IAFCCP Government and Legislative Affairs Committee. His active leadership in the industry will add to the AAMS Board.

 

rmacdonald-photo - portraitRussell MacDonald, MD, MPH, FRCPC, was elected to one of the AAMS At-Large Director Positions. Russell is the Medical Director at Ornge Transport Medicine in Mississauga, ON, Canada and is also an Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in Toronto, ON, Canada. He also sits on the MedEvac Foundation International Board and chairs the Research and Grant Committee. Russell started as a flight physician in the industry and is active in AMPA, NAEMSP, as well as other associations. Russell’s background brings a great perspective to the AAMS Board.

I would like to sincerely thank all of the candidates that stepped forward to run for a position, and for their continued interest in AAMS and the critical care transport industry.
